Top Universities in Massachusetts

In the north-eastern region known as New England, Massachusetts is the third most densely populated state. Two thirds of the population lives in the metropolitan area of Greater Boston. Massachusetts boasts the two top US universities – which are also currently ranked the two best universities in the world. One of these is Harvard, the oldest institution of higher learning in the US.

• Smith College (601-650 in the world; 121st in the US)
